A bold yet elegant Barossa Valley Shiraz: strong fruit purity, refined structure and good length. Suitable for immediate enjoyment and capable of ageing slightly.

“The Barossa Valley vineyard landscape is remarkably diverse. Fortunate to have mates growing grapes all over this place, I’m able to make different wines showcasing many faces of Barossa Valley Shiraz. We’ve named this wine in honour of one of our favorite characters, the legendary ‘Roger Bilmore’!Whilst I’m sworn to secrecy and can’t reveal his true identity, I can tell you that by day, John is a humble Barossa grape grower, a hard working type and a man of few words. The quality of his grapes usually does John’s bidding. But from time to time, under cover of night and with the aid of more than a few glasses of Barossa Shiraz, John shyly retreats and his alter ego Roger Bilmore steps up to the plate to show an entirely different face!"- KYM TEUSNER, WINEMAKER

Winery Tasting Notes

Appearance

Deep magenta-ruby with youthful vibrancy and good clarity.

Nose

Plush and ripe, featuring blackberry richness mixed with mineral-savoury tones and hints of baking spice, dark chocolate, citrus blossom and boysenberry.

Palate

Abundant flavour concentration of dark and red berries (satsuma plum, blueberry, boysenberry) balanced by mineral-savoury undertones. Tannins and acid bring structure and freshness, making the palate feel more refined than the nose initially suggests.
