Clyde Park has two plantings of Shiraz, one on the upper flats comprising black volcanic loams over clay. The other, which we call E Block, is on a steep north-facing slope and is also volcanic loams over limestone, though this site is littered with rocks and smaller stones – one of our most difficult yet rewarding plots.

The Locale Shiraz is the personification of a cool climate.

Winery Tasting Notes

It is a perfectly medium-bodied Shiraz, with characters of bright purple and blue fruits, as well as a subtle but lingering spice of black pepper.

Winery Profile

Award-winning wine, magnificent views and luscious fruit are what you can expect from the Clyde Park Vineyard. The setting on the picturesque hills surrounding the Moorabool River, 30 km north of Geelong, Victoria, places Clyde Park at the forefront of cool climate viticulture.

The vineyard was established in 1979 with small plantings of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Further plantings have expanded to include Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris. Our Pinot Noir consists of seven different clones originating from Switzerland, California, France and Australia.

We are proud to be recognised as a James Halliday 5 Star rated vineyard.
