Expert Reviews
This vineyard was bought from Mt. Langi Ghiran in 2013. Its pedigree is excellent, as are the winemaking credentials of contract maker, Justin Purser. What a joy to see a Grampians cabernet sauvignon taking it up to the shiraz in this part of the world. A picture of harmony here – if not ripeness – with fragrant aromatics, violets, plum, blueberry, licorice strap and a gentle leafiness. Fine-edged tannins and harmonious oak go hand in hand, delivering quite the complete wine.

Winery Tasting Notes
The cabernet was planted along with the Shiraz in 1969. Harvested at the end of April, the Fallen Giants block is very low yielding producing 1.4 tonne to the acre.
The Cabernet was fermented in open fermenters with a long cold soak and extended maceration. Plunging was done twice a day ensuring nice colour and fine tannin.
