Appearance

Deep garnet to dark red with youthful purple hues — medium to moderately intense colour.

Nose

Enticing aromatics of dark cherries and bright red berries, with accents of raspberry and plum.

Savoury complexity shows bay leaf, spice and a hint of leather alongside subtle floral notes (violets).

Oak influence is integrated but still discernible.

Palate

Medium-bodied with generous fruit depth and vibrant acidity that keeps the wine fresh.

Flavor profile continues with red fruit core (dark cherry, raspberry) and touches of licorice and spice.

Fine, chalky to silky tannins provide structure and a smooth mouthfeel.

Balanced and approachable, with good persistence.

As a leading personality in the emerging Australian wine industry, Geoff also established a high profile internationally, most recently as consulting winemaker in Italy making wines for the UK market and as a respected judge at Australian and International wine shows.

Geoff Merrill's wines have been successful at Australian and International wine shows, including the coveted Jimmy Watson Trophy at the 2005 Melbourne wine show. Since 1980 Geoff Merrill Wines have won 29 Trophies, 143 Gold , 373 Silver and 1181 Bronze medals.
