Hand-picked fruit from the southern part of Barossa, planted between 1991–1994. 5 parcels, 3 with partial whole-bunch fermentation; matured 14 months in mix of new and old French and American oak. The fragrant, exotic spice of century-old Barossa vines is something to behold, heightened magnificently by carefully gauged whole-bunch fermentation. Appearance

Deep garnet-purple with an opaque core and exceptional color concentration. Bright and polished in the glass.

Aroma

Intense aromas of blackberry, black plum, blueberry, and dark cherry layered with dark chocolate, licorice, cedar, espresso, vanilla, and baking spices. Hints of black pepper, dried herbs, and subtle earth add complexity.

Palate

Full-bodied and richly textured with concentrated flavors of blackberry, plum, blueberry, and dark cherry supported by layers of dark chocolate, mocha, licorice, cedar, and sweet spice. Fine-grained tannins and balanced acidity provide power and elegance, leading to a long, seamless finish with lingering notes of dark fruit, cocoa, spice, and subtle savory complexity.
