Appearance

Bright ruby red with youthful crimson hues.

Nose

Lifted aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, red cherry and pomegranate, supported by hints of dried herbs, spice and subtle floral notes. McLaren Vale Grenache from Oliver's Taranga is typically made with a focus on purity and fragrance rather than heavy extraction.

Palate

Juicy red berry fruits dominate, with raspberry, cherry and cranberry flavours complemented by savoury spice and a touch of earthiness. The fruit intensity is generous yet finely balanced, reflecting the winery's small-batch approach.

Winery Profile

Oliver’s Taranga is situated in the northern hills of McLaren Vale on Seaview Road.

William and Elizabeth Oliver arrived from Scotland in 1839 to settle at McLaren Vale. Six generations later, members of the family are still living on the Whitehill and Taranga farms.

Oliver’s Taranga is renowned for its premium Shiraz along with many ‘alternative varieties’ including Fiano, Viognier, Grenache, Tempranillo, Sagrantino, Vermentino and Cabernet. Fortifieds include 20 year old ‘The Banished’ Fortified Grenache and RW Oliver & Sons Liqueur Muscat.
