Appealing flavours

There’s a cheerful nature to this sparkling, beginning with aromas of citrus and crisp apple. The palate follows being creamy, appley, and bright with acidity. A softness to the mousse gives it a quiet, celebratory feel. It’s not a ‘simple’ wine, but it’s not trying to be complex either, and that’s exactly the point it makes. Well made, well priced, and all the better for it. Eye-catching label, appealing flavours, and a price that will also attract attention. Nicely done I say.

A fizz worth reaching for

Not everyone has a Champagne budget, and although this Oxford Landing Cuveé is not in the same league, if you have a thirst for some fizz, there is not a lot wrong here for 13 bucks. The attractive feature is its easy-going nature. It's not trying to be anything but a good drink and it carries itself with aplomb. Lemon zest, lemon juice, citrus flowers and green apples make a notable first impression. That citrus vibe continues through the mouth with a lemony tang and a flash of honeycomb. A little sourdough detail creeps into the frame, too. Nailing the brief for casual gatherings, it's a fizz worth reaching for if you want something to appease rather than impress those around you. Pale gold in colour with green tints. Delicious aromas of citrus blossom, red apples and freshly baked pastries. The palate is lively and full of flavour with notes of citrus, brioche and creamy texture from extended time on lees balanced by crisp, refreshing acidity on the finish.

Oxford Landing Estates was established in 1958 on the banks of the mighty Murray River in South Australia amidst bountiful sunshine, vivid blue skies and plenty of red Riverland soil.

From planting vines to making wines, Oxford Landing Estates takes great pride in their people – some having spent their whole life on the Murray. They are part of a community who are unashamedly passionate about the vineyards, grapes and working together to ensure the wine going into the bottle is what they envisaged.

“Our group of dedicated vineyard staff live on-site and nearby. It’s their care and attention to detail that sets the basis for Oxford Landing Estates wine quality,” says Vineyard Manager Robert ‘Fred’ Strachan.
