Winery Tasting Notes

Appearance

Deep ruby to purple-tinged core, vibrant and youthful, reflecting the Barossa Valley Cabernet style.

Nose

Rich cassis and dark plum, backed by fresh blackberry. Secondary notes of bitter chocolate, pencil-lead graphite and subtle earthy/mineral layers add complexity.

Palate

Full-bodied and concentrated, presenting the ripe dark fruits (cassis, blackberry, dark plum) up front, layered with bitter chocolate and savoury graphite/mineral edges. The tannin frame is fine but firm, giving structure and length.

The Schild name has a long history in the Barossa, dating back to 1952 when BenSchild purchased the Three Springs Farm property in Rowland Flat and settled withhis family. Today, second and third generation vigneron’s work side by side tosolidify Schild Estate’s reputation, built on its commitment to translating theunique tapestry of its vineyards into wines that speak of honesty and drinkability.
