In addition to cabernet there are smaller contributions from merlot, tempranillo and mourvedre. Distinctly more lifted bright primary fruitness than the 2016 version. Lots of spices and dried herbs overlaying the black olive and blackberry nuances of the primary fruit characters. Fine chalky tannins with subtle oak work well.

APPEARANCE

The 2017 Dirty Boots Cabernet Sauvignon is a medium to full bodied wine with great depth of colour.

AROMA

It has great ripe primary fruit with blackberry, dark cherry and perhaps more savoury elements: herbs olives earth and leather.

PALATE

Earlier pressing (an average of 18 days on skins) has given the 2017 Dirty Boots tannin depth without overextraction. The sweet fruited palate is balanced with subtle oak (16% new) providing layers of texture and a finely structured finish.
