Appearance

Pale straw with soft green hues — youthful and bright, typical of a fresh Clare Valley Fiano.

Nose

Fresh and expressive aromatic:

Citrus zest (lime/lemon)

Green apple and pear

Touches of mango or lime jelly early on

Subtle floral notes and a hint of sweet spice (cinnamon-like) on the mid-palate aroma.

Palate

Fresh and medium-bodied with vibrant acidity.

Fruit flavours include:

Pear, green apple

Ripe stonefruit

Light tropical notes

There’s a subtle creamy texture and lingering spice on the finish, with a moreish quality that keeps the palate engaged.

Winery Profile

Pikes Vintners is an iconic family owned and operated winery set amongst the hills and valleys of South Australia's beautiful Clare Valley.

Established in 1984 the winery and vineyards are situated in the historic and picturesque Polish Hill River sub region on the eastern side of the Clare Valley. The climate in this area is cooler and the soils are quite different compared to the rest of the region, imparting distinctive flavours and aromas to the wines.

Pikes is best known for its world class Riesling, but is becoming increasingly recognized for high quality, elegant red wines and their ever popular Sauvignon Blanc Semillon blend. Pikes have also been a leader in planting new and alternative varieties to the district including Sangiovese, Pinot Grigio and Viognier. Pikes also produces Pikes Oakbank- a sparkling Pilsener style beer.

The distinctive English Pike fish appears on all Pikes products.
