Winery Tasting Notes

Appearance. Deep, vibrant crimson with a youthful sheen—a wine that immediately signals power and richness.

Nose. A compelling aromatic mix: bold, ripe dark berries (black cherry, plum) layered with earth-tinged savory notes, spice-accented undercurrents, and a subtle herbaceous lift. Hints of spice box and a whisper of liquorice or smokiness swirl in the background.

Palate. Palate-first strikes of succulent dark fruit—rich, juicy, and rounded—followed by savory complexity from the Tempranillo and lifted perfume from the Grenache mid-palate. The powerful structure of Shiraz brings backbone and structure, while integrated oak offers nuance without overpowering.

Acidity & Structure. Full-bodied and textured, with mature, grippy tannins that anchor the fruit and add depth. Balanced enough to feel smooth, yet structured and dynamic.

Finish. Long, savory, and detailed, with lingering dark fruit, spice, and a warm tannic echo that invites contemplation or another glass.

Winery Profile

Vinaceous is the brainchild of Nick Stacy (Marketing Manager for West Cape Howe, Pitchfork and Hay Shed Hill Wines), Gavin Berry (CEO/winemaker of West Cape Howe Wines) and Michael Kerrigan (CEO/winemaker of Hayshed Hill Wines). Together, they have sourced some of the best Shiraz, Grenache, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon fruit from McLaren Vale and Padthaway/Limestone Coast to produce wines of extraordinary flavour, intensity, and above all quality.
