The grapes were sourced from Margaret River in Western Australia, Australia’s pre-eminent Cabernet Sauvignon region. This varietal has a real affinity for the soils and weather conditions in Margaret River. The fruit was picked in the cool of the night and processed without crushing the berries, this reduces the extraction of overt tannin in favour of more fruit freshness and vibrancy. Maturation took place in older French oak (10 months), ideal when trying to highlight the fruits vibrancy and structure.
Beyond Broke Road Cabernet Sauvignon is medium to full bodied. It has classic lifted dark cherry and blackberry aromas with hints of violets and olive tapenade. The plate is vibrant and fresh showing off the dark fruits and herbaceous varietal notes with silky tannins a bright natural balance.

English immigrant Edward Tyrrell established Tyrrell's Wines in 1858 in the lee of the Hunter Valley's Brokenback Range, New South Wales. This land has become recognised as home to some of the Hunter Valley regions finest vineyards, and the basis for development of one of Australia's most successful privately owned wine companies.
Today, Tyrrell's are a truly national wine company, premium vineyards extend from their legendary home in the Hunter Valley to other distinguished grape growing regions of Australia including McLaren Vale in South Australia and Heathcote in Victoria.
Fourth generation family member and Managing Director, Bruce Tyrrell heads this winemaking company that boasts well established, popular and highly recognisable wine brands that are exported to over 30 countries worldwide. His children, the fifth generation of the Tyrrell family, are involved in the family business, illustrating that this iconic Hunter Valley winery will continue to be Australian owned well into the future.
Tyrrell's Wines was awarded Winery Of The Year by James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion Edition 2010.
