Merlot is an elegant and soft variety that provides a supple wine of finesse. The 2019 vintage saw low rainfall and a mild to warm ripening period, giving small berries with intense colour and flavours.

Harvest at optimum timing capturing full fruit potential. The wine was fermented in tank to retain fresh fruit aromas and flavours.

1838 was the year Walter Thomson, with wife Jane, arrived in Australia and established a winemaking tradition. Faithful to his approach, our estate grown parcels are carefully tended by our vignerons to create wines of great intensity.

Named after a Merlot vineyard off Robinson Road, and a path leading to a beautiful view over the vines.
